Flamingo Plant
Anthurium andreanum
Origin: South America
Medium light
Description: Flamingo plants have dark green, shield-shaped leaves and brilliant red or pink glossy flowers that appear in spring and last for months.

Stumpy’s Cultivation Tip: Flamingo Plants should be watered freely in summer months with tepid water. Spray leaves regularly to increase humidity. In winter, allow the top 2cm-1 inch of soil to dry out between waterings.
Feed every two weeks with liquid or slow-release fertilizer during the growing season. Propagate by division in Winter. Re-pot annually in Spring.
Problems: Yellowing of foliage is often the result of too much light but, yellow speckling may be caused by Red Spider mite. Spray with Pyrethrum to remove Red Spider mite.
