Description: Thousands of these plants lived out their Nineteenth Century lives in stuffy parlours with curtains drawn. They even survived the neglect and abuse in colonial bar-rooms, earning them the name Cast Iron Plant and Bar Room Plant..

Aspidistra indoor plant Variegated form is available in gold or cream. Insignificant, small purple or brown flowers may appear in summer. Leaves are long, shiny and spear shaped. Clumps grow to 1 meter high.

Position: Plants will survive in the dimmest corner, though they may need more light in winter. They can withstand draughts. These are one hardy plant!
