Origin: South America
Air Conditioned Rooms
Description: Attractive for both foliage and flowers, Peace Lilies grow glossy, pointed leaves and unusual white flowers in a shape of a hood, with a green spadix.
Blooms are scented. The plants grow to 60cm- 24 inches high.
Position and Peace lily plant care: Peace Lilies can’t stand draughts or direct sunlight. They will, however, adapt to varying light intensities from dim to bright.
They enjoy humidity, so ideally place their container over a tray of wet pebbles.
Stumpy’s Cultivation Tips, Prayer plant propagation: Plant large root divisions or suckers in spring or autumn in peat-based potting mix.
Keep soil moist without waterlogging 'em. Mist foliage in dry, hot weather. Feed with slow release fertilizers.
Problems: Watch for Aphids. Ants like to farm Aphids, so get rid of the Ants. One trick is reverse sticky tape on point of entry. If you have an infestation of Aphids, hose them off outside.
