Chinese evergreen houseplant
Chinese Evergreen Houseplant
Aglaonema commutatum
Origin - South East Asia
Air Conditioned Rooms
Description: A group of showy foliage plants from the jungle. Narrow dark green foliage is beautifully marked with silver.
Flowers are pale green and sometimes orange berries appear in autumn.
Plants grow 60cm tall, 24 inches.
Position: These plants thrive in low levels of light that would kill off other plants; they dislike direct sunlight.
Warm corners under indoor lights are preferred with a minimum winter temperature of 13 Degrees Celsius at night.
Stumpy’s Cultivation Tips: Plant spring cuttings in humus-rich potting mix or peaty compost and check root moisture before watering: plants like to be moist rather than wet or dry. Place over a tray of pebbles to raise humidity. Re-pot every one to two years.
Problems: Mealy Bug, eradicate with the ton toxic Confidor.
