Description: Summer flowers are green and fragrant, leaves are sword shaped, green edged with gold, and reach 1.3 meters high.
Several species of this plant exist – S. t. Hahnii (green foliage) and S.t. Golden Hahnii (gold leaves) are both slow growing and therefore good for terrariums.
Position: This hardy specimen adapts to a variety of conditions from dim to bright light, warm to cool temperatures.
They dislike direct sun.
: Plant root divisions or cuttings in spring in peat based potting mix. Water sparingly, especially in winter. These plants thrive on neglect and need little care. Re-pot occasionally, only when roots become completely congested.
Problems: Root rot. Let the plants container dry out between watering,but never completely dry, just moist.
