My Jelly Bean Plant
The Jelly Bean Plant is a popular succulent that is small and quite a vigorous grower that can spread quite a way in one season.
It's easy to see why it's called the Jelly Bean Plant (Sedum rubrotinctum) as the small green leaves are shaped like jelly beans and turn bright red in winter or when it's very dry.
In America the Jelly bean plant is nicknamed Christmas cheer.
This plant can expand to a wide clump of 20cm or more in a season.Stems up to 25cm also branch upwards to carry the elongated rosettes of leaves. This is a good plant for a rockery or container and can be used as a border in the garden.
It is a very easy-care container plant and small pieces can be tucked into quaint ornamental pots with little soil. It also looks great in a wide shallow bowl.
